Mary Anne is the executive director and founder of the Orange County Asian and Pacific Islander Community Alliance, Inc. (OCAPICA) a non-profit community based organization serving the diverse and underserved communities in Southern California regarding health, mental health, policy and civic engagement, youth leadership and education, and workforce development. OCAPICA has 80+ staff who speak 24 languages and serve more than 40,000 community members a year. Mary Anne has been working for almost 30 years on issues affecting diverse populations on national, state and local level at several community and county wide organizations. She was honored with the TCWF Sabbatical Award and took a 3 month sabbatical during the summer of 2015. Mary Anne received her Bachelor of Science from UC Davis and her Master in Public Health from the UCLA. Mary Anne loves being involved in her sons’ schools including serving on the boards of PTA, music boosters, and Little League. She is a fourth generation Chinese-Japanese Californian who is married to a Japanese Peruvian with two young sons and when not exhausted, likes to go fishing with her family or play matchmaker for her coworkers
