Name: Taylor Garcia
Year: 4th
Position: Lead Coordinator
Major: Biological Sciences
Biography: I am a fourth year, bio-sci student, along with one of the leads for this school year. I have a passion for providing healthcare to those in low income communities and educating on how a community can affect one’s health. Outside of school, I intern at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Long Beach along with working at the ARC. I enjoy exploring new places, sleeping, and watching Netflix, when I can. I inspire one day to work with emergency medicine in a community close to my own and owning a shiba inu (which is a really cute dog, if this was unclear). Above all else, I am more than excited to be one of your lead coordinators for this school year!
What Diversity Means to Me:Diversity is one of those common terms that is difficult to explain, but diversity to me is recognizing the different backgrounds people come from. We must realize that we all have different upbringings and different traditions, but this is what makes us unique and adds to our own personal diversity. Overall, everyone is equal but we all bring something new to the table; where our different backgrounds come in and allow us to live in such a beautiful world with all the different cultures and traditions that bring us together as one.
